In Religion, we are learning about the Holy Spirit.  Jesus sent us His Holy Spirit to help us live and love as He did.  The Holy Spirit is like the wind - we cannot see it, but we can feel its effects!  We are also learning how to bring Jesus' joy to others.

May is the month of Mary and we will soon be learning all about the mother of Jesus.  We will also learn about many other special saints!,

In Reading, we will soon begin Theme 10 - Animals All Around.  We will be reading many stories (fact and fiction) about animals.

We will be learning about the -ut and -ug Word Families.  These include the following words: but, cut, gut, hut, jut, nut, rut, AND bug, dug, hug, jug, lug, mug, pug, rug, tug

Our remaining Word Ring words are: are, but, he, has, had, what.

In Math, we are currently studying Time and Money.  We learned how to tell time to the hour and half hour.  We are learning the value of a penny, nickel, dime, and quarter.  We are learning to count by pennies, nickels, and dimes!  We will learn that four quarters equal a dollar.

Soon we will begin learning about addition and subtraction!

Our current theme is Animals.  We will be reading lots of books and completing many projects about our theme!  We will learn about the different animal classifications.

Please remember that students MUST wear tennis shoes on P.E. days, but are strongly encouraged to wear them everyday!  Girls should also wear shorts (any type) under their uniform jumpers.
