St. Al's Pre-K Program will involve daily math lessons for our students.  Below you will find information that will be helpful in helping your child develop their math skills throughout the school year.

Students in St. Al's Pre-K Program will learn about positions.  They will utilize the following vocabulary: up, down, above, below, beside, beneath, over, under, and in between.  We will use various manipulatives and hands-on activities to teach and master these position concepts.

Students in St. Al's Pre-K Program will learn about comparisons.  They will utilize the following vocabulary: smaller/larger, smallest/largest, lighter/heavier, lightest/heaviest, shorter/longer, shortest/longest.  We will use real life objects to perform experiments using these terms.

Students in St. Al's Pre-K Program will learn about shapes.  The will be asked to identify and duplicate the following shapes: circle, square, triangle, oval, rectangle, diamond, heart, and star.  We will look for real-life objects that are these shapes in our classroom and encourage you to help your child find them at home.  We will also use shapes to make pictures and people.
