Welcome to
February in Pre-K!
We are so excited to
begin the month of February! We have so much to look forward
to this month! We will be celebrating Groundhog's Day,
Valentine's Day, and President's Day. We will also begin the
liturgical season of Lent. Our Pre-K students have grown so
much this school year and keep amazing us every day! Keep up

This month, we
will talk about the Bible. We will learn about the Ten
Commandments, Ash Wednesday, Lent, and the Stations of the
Cross. |

This month, we
will be learning about the letters M, N, O and P. We
will meet the Alphafriends Mimi Mouse, Nyle Noodle,
Ozzie Octopus and Pippa Pig. We will learn the sounds
for these letters as well. By now your child should know
most of their uppercase letters and many of their lowercase
letters. We are really focusing on sounds and phonemic
awareness. |

In Math, we
are still focusing on number sense. Number Sense
involves recognizing, writing, counting, and being able to
count out objects (one-to-one correspondence). We will
also talk about greater than/less than. |

Our themes
this month are Penguins, Valentine's Day, Leaders and
Kites. We will read lots of Valentine's books and do
many projects before our Valentine's Day celebration on the
Feb. 12. |
