To our new and prospective parents, we welcome you to our Pre-K website.  Please let us know if there is any information that you need that you cannot find on our website.  We are so excited to help you find out more about St. Al's School.

 

The St. Aloysius Pre-K Program will provide a safe and faith-filled learning environment for each student that will help them gain a life-long love of learning and flourish academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

 
 


Location: St. Aloysius School Building
Time: Full Day or Half Day
Age: Students must be Four-Years Old (By 9/1/08)
Tuition: $2950 Per Year (Full Day)
             $??? Per Year (Half Day)
 

 
 

The teacher for the St. Aloysius Pre-K Program is Mrs. Cindy Essex.  Mrs. Essex has taught at St. Al's for five years.  She spent two years in first grade, two years in kindergarten, and one year in Pre-K.  She has degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology.  She also received her certificate in Catechetical Leadership from the Diocese of Springfield.

 
 

The St. Aloysius Pre-K Curriculum will include instruction in the following areas:

Religion, Phonemic Awareness/Oral Language, Reading Readiness, Math Readiness, Social Studies, Science, and Technology.


 
 

The St. Aloysius Pre-K Program will include the use of the following learning centers:

Reading Center, Math Center, ABC Center, Science Center, Writing Center, Religion Center, Computer Center, Art Center, Blocks Center, and Housekeeping Center


 
 

The St. Aloysius Pre-K Program will attend the following special classes:

P.E., Music, Art, and Library


 
 

As the time for your child to enter Pre-K draws closer, here are some suggestions for activities you can do with your child:
  • Sing and Say the Alphabet
  • Count
  • Colors (Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White, and Yellow)
  • Shapes (Circle, Square, Triangle, Oval, Rectangle, Diamond, Heart, and Star)
  • Help Your Child Recognize Their Name in Print
  • Play Games (Candy Land, Hi-Ho Cherrio, Chutes and Ladders, Memory)
  • Practice Holding a Pencil and Using Scissors
