Helen Keller

You are now reading about two very important people, Helen Keller and Louis Braille.  Soon you will visit the Mary Bryant Home for the blind where you will see people who use Braille and other things to help them in their daily lives.  You will learn about the American Sign language.  This project will help you to tell about the things you are learning about.

The Task

You are to read through the web sites that you will find below.  Read carefully and write down any information you think is important or any that answers the questions below.  You will prepare a booklet that tells people what it was like for Helen Keller and Louis Braille to be blind and deaf.  You will also include information about the American Sign Language and Braille.  There is a braille and a sign language font on your computer you can use, also.  You will try to help others to understand about the senses of seeing and hearing, and how they are important.  Finally, visit the Human body sites to learn more about how your body works.  Answer the questions for each of the Human Body sites.
